2nd place for Greece's coasts, with Halkidiki's beaches awarded the most and 2 Blue Flags for Miraggio!
The Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature (EEPF), National Operator of the International Program "Blue Flag" in our country, announced the awards of coasts, marinas and tourist boats.
With 545 award-winning beaches, 16 marinas and 6 tourist boats, Greece ranks 2nd in the world among 49 countries.
Halkidiki region was awarded with 96 flags and Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort was awarded with 2 Blue Flags, one for its beautiful beach and one for its high standard marina.
Mr. Konstantinos Tzikopoulos, the General Manager of Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort, commented on the positive news:
“Once again, the beach and the marina of Miraggio Thermal Spa Resort are being awarded for their quality, safety and cleanliness as well as their sustainability. The commitment we made to the local community and to the environment is being renewed and certified every year. Our green premises are just a temporary guest of this magical land which we constantly try to respect by keeping it intact; in fact we are trying to improve it with our Eco-Footprint Program".

The Blue Flag Program
The Blue Flag is one of the world’s most recognised voluntary eco-labels awarded to beaches, marinas, and sustainable boating tourism operators. In order to qualify for the Blue Flag, a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria must be met and maintained. (https://www.blueflag.global/)
